Strawberry Beer Margarita made with fresh strawberries and your favorite Mexican beer. A refreshing drink for your Cinco de Mayo celebration.
{This post is an oldie from my first blog, Life Food, and Beer. I'm not cooking with beer like I once did, but I still love this recipe. To read more about my food philosophy now, click on the About Me page.}
Long before I was the beer lover that I am now, my drink of choice was a margarita. I had a fully stocked liquor cabinet with every kind of margarita syrup available, but my specialty was strawberry mango margaritas. Now, that overly sweetened, artificial, syrup doesn't have the same appeal it once did. Honestly, there is nothing appealing about that fake syrup. That's why, when I decided to make beer margaritas, I decided to forgo the artificial syrups and create a healthier, real mix.
These strawberries were some of the best berries I've bought all season, and they didn't need a lot of extra sugar. You can adjust the sugar to your taste. For the beer, look for a beer light in flavor and hoppiness.
