Air Fryer Broccoli is a super simple and delicious meal that takes minutes to make. It's the perfect side dish and great for weekly meal prep. Keto and Whole30, this recipe will quickly become a family favorite!
I'm sure by now, you know I love my air fryer! At first, I was completely against getting one. We did not need anything else to take up space in our tiny condo at the time. It didn't take long for me to change my mind!
We had the same air fryer for years before the basket broke 🙁 and we had to purchase a new one. Unfortunately, that brand was no longer available, so I went with the Instant Pot air fryer attachment. I really liked the idea of having one machine for everything, and it does a good job. We just really missed the basket. I find it easier to remove the basket, shake around the food, and continue cooking. Now, I have a giant 8.9-quart air fryer that doesn't even fit in the cabinet, but I love it! It cooks a ton of wings and veggies. I could fit a whole chicken inside if I wanted to! I also love using the air fryer because I do not have to preheat the oven or heat the house when it's super hot outside! And, it's always super hot outside!
How to Make Air Fryer Broccoli
The steps for this could not be easier. For a basic broccoli recipe, you'll need the following:
- Broccoli Florets
- Oil
- Salt and Pepper {I like to use The Basic - a blend of salt, pepper, and garlic}
First, cut the broccoli into bite-size pieces and place them in a large bowl or the air fryer basket. Lightly coat with oil and season to taste.
Place the broccoli in the air fryer, and cook at 350 degrees for 5 minutes. At 5 minutes, toss the broccoli around and continue cooking for 5 minutes or until they reach the desired crispiness.
Remove from the air fryer and serve!
Broccoli Variation
Want to jazz up your broccoli? Use one of the add-ons listed below:
- Lemon Broccoli - Remove the cooked broccoli from the air fryer and add the zest and juice of one lemon.
- Parmesan - Add ¼ cup of grated parmesan to the broccoli and cook as directed below.
- Feta - Crumble ¼ cup of feta over the cooked broccoli.
- Spice - Add ¼ to ½ teaspoon cayenne to the broccoli before cooking. Serve with a side of ranch dressing for dipping.
- Ranch - Add ½ tablespoon of ranch seasoning to the broccoli before cooking.
- Asian Flavored - In a small bowl, combine ¼ cup of soy sauce or coconut aminos, 2 teaspoons sesame seed oil, 1 minced garlic clove, ½ tablespoon grated ginger, and salt and pepper. Stir to fully combine and toss over the broccoli - cook as directed.
- Greek - Add 1 tablespoon of Greek or Italian seasoning before cooking. Serve with our creamy dairy-free tzatziki sauce for dipping.
- Sriracha Sauce - Drizzle with sauce and top with toasted sesame seeds.
Make-Ahead and Storage
Make a large batch of broccoli for the week and store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 4-5 days. Broccoli can be reheated in the microwave for 1-2 minutes or in the air fryer at 350 degrees until warm - about 3-4 minutes.
